It's funny you mentioned St. Augustine, FL. I have a cousin that lives in one of the World Golf Hall of Fame neighborhoods. 32092 area code is on my shortlist of destinations. This C19 stuff has my plans all screwed up. I was also thinking about detecting near the old Charlotte and Dahlonega Mints. Wouldn't it be nice to discover a can of old gold coins from those mints? I love reading stories about old homes with treasure like this... https://www.tribdem.com/news/treasu...cle_04797a0d-8195-5643-9fd6-120a49f7c77e.html The only thing that troubles me about metal detecting is the fine line between "discovery" and "theft". Btw, is it true that Spanish shipwreck coins still wash up on Florida beaches? https://nypost.com/2020/03/03/treas...treasure hunters,River County with his friend.
Wow! I live in a small town in North Carolina. I wonder if there are any sites here to look. I don't have a detector yet. I spend too much on coins.
The KALI-STEN-IKS brand was first trademarked in 1926 by The Gilbert Shoe Company. https://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-AL...-Good-Luck-token-medal-HI-GRADE-/192889080932
A good digging knife is a must - I've been satisfied with the A.M. Leonard hori-hori knife - comes with a heavy duty leather sheath: https://www.amleo.com/leonard-deluxe-soil-knife-and-sheath-combination-kit/p/4752COM/
That digger looks like a beast. Is it as heavy as it looks? My only concern is looks. My club doesn’t allow members to bring diggers like that on club hunts because it might scare people into thinking we’re going to dig massive holes. I used to use a digger similar and thought it was BS. until I saw one of our members carrying one and then saw the point. I use both a hand held and long handled Lesche. It’s really tough, lightweight but the blade is more narrow. Please let me know how that thing works out.
I love the ATPro with a 5x8 coil. But shop for a used one and save the bucks. 9 of my 11 machines I bought used
My club doesn't care what anyone else thinks! But we always fill in all plugs and take all the garbage we find. We are very good at keeping everything looking as it was. In one incident someone stopped a patrol car to report us. When we showed our shovels to the cop he said.. "That's neat, where can I get one?" It is a great shovel. It saves my a lot of time by not using my handheld! Deeper holes allows me to get to the good stuff!
Very nice. Now that my weather has improved (read that as the snow is gone. LOL) I'm going to dig out my detector and see what I can find around here. My mining claim was staked out in 1864, so I might find something nice. Keep your fingers crossed for me please.
Mouthpiece of a trumpet or something, I'm guessing. I've found a couple of pearl- inlaid valve keys. Rings are always cool!
Amazing, ya I'm getting a detector for sure, I live in ft collins, CO. There's numerous 120+ yr old farms around, i cant wait, thanks for the advice on an affordable detector this morning,
