    Hello everyone,
So my metal detecting buddy Carlos did it again. He went out this past Sunday morning and found himself US Silver coin #4 for 2025 :wideyed:.. I'm still at ZERO

    It's a 1951 Silver Washington Quarter

Then, just a few minutes later he detected a bucket list coin!

    He got himself a..

I went to see him today at his job to take some better pictures than the ones he sent to me.

It is not in the best condition especially on the reverse side but just to find a largie is still spectacular!

He also found an 8 Wheat Cent spill in the same hole (Different area, not the same hole where he found the Large Cent). Here's all his finds.

Wait now .......... he found eight wheat cents in the same hole? Were the coins at different depths? I'm just wondering how coins minted over a hundred years apart are in the same hole.

What I meant was at a different location. 8 Wheats in the same hole in a different area of the woods ;)

They are generally pocket spills. Imagine a pocket full of change , you are laying on the ground, maybe pre-occupied and they all fall out simultaneously. I have found a few such accumulations but on a beach. Alternatively some one drops a cloth bag of coins in tall grass or crop and they get grown over or ploughed in.

That's amazing, makes you wonder how many years that coin laid there waiting to be found.

How'd he find that in New York in zero degree weather? Isn't the ground frozen?
