It was another nice (winter) day so I did a 6 hour Metal Detecting hunt at St. Nicholas Park in Manhattan NYC. I did really good with 6 US Silver coins, 10 Indian Head Cents (a new record) and 28 Wheat Cents

    Here are my finds

    10C Barber - 1903 & 1912
    10C Winged Liberty Head - 1920 & 1943

This 1916 Barber Dime is in great shape.
    Didn't see much circulation :wideyed:

Me'thinks Paddy's sniffer is even better at finding coins than those coils of copper are. . .

I made it 59002 just because I'm a nice guy. That '16 dime is amazing.

Congratulations on the 59,000 likes and what a good day for cleaning up those NYC parks. Seems to be a lot of litter bugs up there. Lol. Again, great finds!

Awesome day out... Hope you didn't have to look over your shoulder much... Almost a full liberty on that '16 ... Easy to see from the Indians there's not much iron in the soil in St.Nicks. The '43 Merc looks AU :joyful::joyful::joyful:. Think you scratched that poor WarNick. Were the silvers all high solid 26-30 numbers or were they bouncing in the low 20's? Average depth? Absolutely Fabulous...

Silver were between 26 and 32. The Silver War nickel was low 20's.

4 to 6 inches. The Barber Quarter was the hardest to dig. It was underneath a thick root.

    Thanks!

My buddy went the next day and pulled a 1888 Morgan Dollar from underneath a root also.
    I missed it!

Wow!!!, Sorry you missed it, but nice that it was finally found after 100 years. It must've sounded like a can.... If your buddy has a Minelab, then the number had to be 40 or 80... My Dad got a Silver Dollar in Claremont Park on Father's Day 1983. Good people like you Ed will get something two-fold and I don't mean Indians in stacks of two... Great finds, hope to get you up this way for a day out..
