Hello everyone, December is here and the temperature is dropping in our part of the United States. NYC is feeling the cold! I feel like this past Saturday I did my final Metal Detecting hunt for 2024. It's not easy being out there and trying to endure the cold. Here are my totals for NYC Silver coin finds for 2024 1 - 1789 Half Reale 7 - War Nickels 1 - Seated Liberty Dime 2 - Barber Dimes 29 - Winged Liberty Head Dimes 12 - Silver Roosevelt Dimes 2 - Barber Quarters 1 - Standing Liberty Quarter 10 - Silver Washington Quarters 1 - Barber Half Dollar 66 Silver Coins --------------------------------------------- There's also my totals for the seeded hunt I participated one day down in Rock Hill, South Carolina. I've given these totals before but never included the silver coins I won as prizes! Won 6 - Miscellaneous Canadian Silver coins 9 - Barber Dimes Detected 9 - Winged Liberty Head Dimes 20 - Silver Roosevelt Dimes 3 - Standing Liberty Quarters 1 - Silver Washington 1 - Benjamin Half Dollar 49 Silver Coins So the question is, could I have one more outing this year? Depends. I have to wait for a Saturday that it would be warm enough for me to get out there and find treasure!
Gotta say, I'da thought that on average the environmental damage would be a lot higher; for the most part they just look 'worn' vs. corroded. Awesome collection. Are you running out of "prime" unsearched (by you) parks yet?
Nice, work, Bunny Foo-Foo! You've had a brilliant year, I'd say! Cracked the 1700s, among other milestones...
You’ve had some nice finds this year. And yes, it’s cold in our area. 20* last night at my place and we’re 4-5 hours apart. Ivv V think it will warm up enough you can get another hunt in this year.
