The coins were in a cigar box and the auction photos weren't great, but it looked like there was a British gold half-sovereign in there.</p><p><br /></p><p>When the box arrived, the "half-sovereign" turned out to be fake- just a jewelry charm. BUT the box was loaded with some nice scarce Puerto Rican coins! He sent them all off to be slabbed, and they fetched a couple of grand when he sold 'em. Not bad for a $40 investment.
