Metal Detecting - 1918 Mercury Dime

Hi all,
I did a 6 hour detecting trip this morning at Coney Island's Brighton Beach.


The best item item was a 1918 Winged Liberty Head Dime (Mercury Dime)
It not in the best of shape.. But it's silver!

IHC - 1876 Found Last Year
Walking Liberty Half - Found 2 weeks ago
Mercury Dime - 1918 found today

 

The SCOUT pocketnife. The blades corroded away!

 

Well that sucks.. They are going to have to then remove it another way.. Jaws of life!

Weather permitting I will return to Brighton Beach this July 4th Thursday to do some more detecting!​

Paddy congrats. The beach never stops giving. It is absolutely amazing what you can find. May I ask, what is your weapon of choice. I have all of the best machines including the Deus, the ctx , the v3i and some others. My deepest find was with the Tesoro Tejon, an indian head penny 16 inches down. This hobby is a great way to stay healthy and I have not been out in the last couple of years and wan't to get back into it. Bill
