    Hello everyone,

Welcome to my 43,500th post! :woot:

I am on my first 1 week long vacation from work for 2024.
    I really needed it!
On Monday and Tuesday I did some 5 hour metal detecting hunts at 3 different NYC parks. Once again, no silver

    I did find this 1911 V Nickel

Great finds again Paddy! I think you’ve cleaned just about all of the silver lost in those NYC parks. Lol
Have a great vacation and a wonderful trip to South Carolina. I know you’ll enjoy your Nugget Noggin time.
While your on vacation I’ll be setting up my new antique shop. I got a space in a new mall and I start moving in today. :)

Good luck, let your wife do the talking while you do the hunt. Enjoy your vacation.

She goes with me to the Friday evening greet and meet the day before. On Saturday she stays at the hotel sleeping until noon. I get back around 5PM. Her medication makes her sleep a lot so she can't really deal with being at the Saturday event too long. But our other plans are.. we are getting together with a cousin that lives in Rock Hill, eating at a few of our favorite restaurants and going to see a late movie. And tour the town for a few hours.
There's plenty of other things to do together!
    Thanks!

It's cool to find coins but I enjoy the other finds just as much.

Man, that's a long haul! I hope you're taking the western route (I-81) instead of going through Philly/Baltimore/DC/Richmond -- that eastern route would bring you right by my office, and it would be cool to say hi, but you'll have a lot less traffic and heartache heading west.

Hi guys.. we are flying from NYC to Charlotte NC.. I have a car rental from the airport and will drive only half an hour into Rock Hill South Carolina.

I have no patience for driving such long distances ;)

    Thanks!!!

Smart move to fly. I imagine traffic on I-95 is pretty messed up with the Key Bridge out of commission.

    EXCELLENT choice.

I did get in a good bit of conversation with my son during our 20+ hours driving to and from the eclipse, but I still prefer to do it where there aren't thousands of other people trying to kill us at 80+ MPH.
