Currently we're running at about 40 a day - every day. And more than a few of them make their 1st post in one of the older threads, and most of them do so completely unaware that it even is an older thread. All they care about is that the thread is related in some way to what they are trying to find out about - so then they post in it. In complete innocence, with no ulterior motives in mind.</p><p><br /></p><p>And when the members who participate regularly on the forum come along and see them, eventually somebody notices that the new guy posted in an old thread. And then the comments start, as to why they did so. And it's often stated that there simply must be ulterior motives involved - because people just don't post in old threads, they just don't do it.</p><p><br /></p><p>Well, lemme ask ya this ? Why do you think we leave all this old threads accessible ? We do so for a couple of reasons, 1 they are just chock full of good information in many cases. And 2 because we see absolutely nothing wrong with people posting in them regardless of how old they are. The very purpose of this forum is the sharing of information and knowledge - and that includes all the old threads. </p><p><br /></p><p>So when somebody, a new member or an established member, posts in an old thread I see it as a good thing, and never a bad thing. Think about that for a minute, think about who is saying it. And I'm saying THAT because it is my job to be suspicious of everybody, to always be on the lookout for the bad things. And you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who is more skeptical, and suspicious than I am. And yet I can say something like I just said above. </p><p><br /></p><p>And no, I don't think that others are more skeptical or suspicious than I am because they make the comments that they do sometimes. And no I don't think they're bad people either. I think they're a lot like the new members who make the posts they do because they are simply ignorant of the subject matter. Only it's not a question of ignorance in their case, it's just that they don't even think about how or why somebody else, somebody completely new, could ever do such a thing in complete innocence. They just assume it must be for some nefarious reason.</p><p><br /></p><p>Now could it be ? Yeah it could. But I'd say the odds are about 100 to 1 that it isn't.</p><p><br /></p><p>Maybe people need to think about that once in a while, consider that somebody might honestly be searching for help and understanding, as opposed to trying to stir up trouble.
