These guys try to replicate medieval minting processes (though not entirely successfully; it looks like they&#039;ve had to depart from suspected or known methods for various reasons, or just make up answers for gaps in knowledge) and sell the coins at SCA gatherings. These coins are then used to purchase items from vendors at these gatherings.</p><p><br /></p><p>The tokens are minted for various fictitious kingdoms (though maybe these kingdoms correspond to actual existing geographic regions, or to SCA chapters/clubs/what-have-you; I don&#039;t know). This coins is for the Kingdom of Caid, and bears the names of al Tomuki and Luciana, King and Queen of Caid.</p><p><br /></p><p>See, that&#039;s what I love about coin collecting. On a regular basis, I look into some little mystery or read some odd tidbit or learn some explanation about something I hadn&#039;t even realized needed explaining, and I say to myself, &quot;Sheesh, well, I had no idea about that!
