I have a 1945 P which, as far as I can tell, is FSB. Long Beach a couple of years ago from a junk box for $6.
What is the price range for ms 67s, if you don't mind. I mean the common date ones, without FSB. I'm with you though, I'm not interested in paying more for FSB
You can find them for as low as around $40 or $50 if you want to wait long enough. Typically it is not hard to buy a common date, blast white pcgs ms67 for $60. For most common dates (ignore the big deceptions), you can generally buy a 66fb for about the same or a little more.
Outstanding coins - my congrats. Mercs are wonderful to collect and you can find beautiful gems at a decent price
I love the 66+ in FSB, but if you want a true challenge see if you can collect the earlier dates, including the infamous 16-D
I don't see the attraction of FSB coins. They are a better and sharper strike and that is all. Otherwise non-FSB coins are just as attractive, just as "white". Also, much cheaper. Same with Roosevelt's.
I'm with you. I don't even need high end...I just buy what looks good to me. Mercs are my favorite dime
The gold mercs will drop dramatically in the next couple of years - similar to the Baseball HOF commems.
