Hello all, Its been a while since Meow posted again. Meow has not been feeling well so has made a few changes in the life of this house Cat. Meow has way more free time now, but has not been feeling up to doing anything. But anyway. Meow has hoarded quite a few random quarter rolls. Actually a shocking amount just for this time in Meows life. Meow has started to go through them and has found some stuff that Meow did not think Meow would find. Meow found a American Samoa and Connecticut W. Meows first ones. Meow was quite sure these did not circulate in Meows area so it was quite the surprise. Also a Idaho one and two Kansas ones. The Kansas ones where the most circulated in Meows area. Meow may have 20 of these by now. Hmm, somewhere in the Cat hoard. Meow also has a box by the front door for Cat wallets, Cat keys and Kitten Mittens with all change received from outings. Meow also looked at the coins in this box. Last time a proof quarter was gleaming at Meow to paw it up. This time there was another quarter proof and a proof penny. Meow guesses that someone in the area inherited many proof sets and spent them. Meow does not do this that often, but it was fun find these.
By the way Meow is a Heavy Metal Cat. Not sure if Meow ever showed Meows weapon of choice. Jackson USA KV2 Yellow Bengal.
Meow has a Jackson RR5FR that Meow loves too. It is stashed at the moment. Meow likes that is has Jumbo frets and a jazz neck pickup. The Bengal has medium frets and dirtier neck pickup. Meow wishes the two were combined and it would be the ultimate Cat Rock guitar.
No good roll hunting lately, but I did haul out this old friend while I have the house to myself. New strings have finally settled down enough to stay in tune.
Your Gibson isn't to shabby. I gave away a 64' Fender Mustang years ago. Candy apple red, dual frets. Actually, I really needed a roof, and an acquaintance turned into a friend. I did give it away. By the way, that's a nice haul, I have still only found one W. PS, my head doesn't tilt to the right anymore.
Many of Meows Axes have Floyd Rose Trems so changing strings is a REAL pain. Meow switched to Polywebs a decade ago to keep the restringing to a minimum. Polywebs are not nearly very bright like regular strings when new. But they can last years. They do not rust at all. They do not get crusty in the wound strings too.
Meow has just been desperately trying to keep busy lately. Sleep and naps can only take up so much time during a full day at home.
Yeah it's worth quite a bit but I could never sell, I've had her over 50 years so hopefully I pass on with her!
Sweet a Guild and a 12 string, years ago there were plenty, I don't see them around much anymore but a friend brings his out every now and then. They add a lot to the overall sound for sure!
I bought a Yamaha 12 back in college, but it was never right - the intonation was bad. This one sounds great, has good intonation, AND holds its tuning well. It does have a couple of issues - the low E buzzes when it's open, and the tuning machines can be sticky. But it's more than enough guitar for me. (I've played some nice four-figure guitars, but I don't have four-figure fingers.)
Yep, as long as it sounds great and it's more than enough guitar for you that's all that matters! Btw is that 12 string made in the US and how old is it do you know? Just wondering.
Alas, it was fresh off the boat from China. Bought it new right before Xmas 2022, I think. Or maybe 2023.
