Interesting and nice. My congratulations. I like coins of Meissen too. I have one (the first half of XV century).

that's interesting ENG, i didn't know they produced these porcelain coins in these 90s. here's an older token from the 20s, 52 mm.

Out of curiosity, why should we consider these coins and not medals?

Meissen did produce some porcelain (notgeld) coins in the 1920s. The ones shown here are medals, except for Siberian Man's non-porcelain piece of course. :)

By the way, when the city was heavily affected by the Elbe flood disaster in 2002, Meissen issued this medal as a fundraiser. The word HELFT ("help", as an appeal) looks like a wall that protects the old town with the castle and cathedral (top) from the flood.

In case embedding the image does not work, click here. And this page shows some more modern medals ...

Really not a coin, a commemorative coin per say. this is more of a medal, i believe they did use some of the porcelain as coins in the 20's.

Note the "ß" by the way. :D The city name is spelled "Meißen", but the name of the porcelain manufacture is "Meissen". Probably because they sell their products to customers in many countries ...
