...And, @DonnaML, Thank you, that was only Some of the story. The rest --of immediate moment to my surname-- involves a great-grandfather in Maine who, after some, um, creative bookkeeping (this according to this same, smarter-than-Dad uncle ...although I never heard enough about it), went to Texas and founded the first music store west of ...well, wherever; available sources were from descendents (including Grandpa, once he was safely back in Mass., after a generation's hiatus). Right, Great-Grandpa changed his name. So, nope, Zero surnames of coat armor going on up in this house. ...With sincere apologies, from here, the story would only suffer from my own ignorance.
