A lot of that has to do with attitude. Basically, I'm young at heart and I like to joke around and have some fun with others on the forums. Oftentimes, my wisecracks are veiled because I grew up in an era when comedy was not based on how many four-letter words you could cram into a sentence, and you had to think about what the person was saying to get the gist of it. Unfortunately today, there are many times when it just "flies right over the reader's head" and they think that they are being insulted. Wrong! Chris
Very good point! Yes, the young people today have so many advantages that people of my generation didn't have. Why then, does it seem like so many kids are are on a path of self-destruction. There isn't a kid in this country who shouldn't be well-educated and/or college-bound to make this planet a better place for everyone. I don't buy the garbage that many of the kids are a product of their environment. That's a cop-out, and like I said before, excuses are for losers. Chris
You're a good man, "Dougie Brown"! Actually, I'm quite pleased with the positive and constructive discussions that evolved from this thread. Chris
I am an Old Timer - I guess - over 50 years old and I just don't get it. But I do remember the old time saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me". So until technology progresses to the point where people can chunk rocks or sticks or fire a Glock over the internet "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself". Lighten up.
Two points to that comment; First, we graduated the same year (I, about 250 mile NW of you). Second, to see how well you follow your own advice. My birthday (year included) is openly published here. Yours is not.
My own advice? August 27, 1947 - When I set up my profile, I didn't see that there was a place to enter your date of birth, and I still don't see it. How can I edit the "Mini Statistics"? Chris
There is a variety of that already. More prevalent in Europe and commercial applications, a growing Malware is Ransomware, where the virus encodes your files with RSA-1024 or RSA-4096, renames them and deletes your originals, and then gives you a screen offering you a restore for a fee ( from E$12 to 0ver E$100. They threaten that each hour, they will delete a certain portion of your files. Others say they will send your info and explicit photos ( if any) to public posting sites. Dare say some OT here might take out their pumps and blast the CPU to smithereens ( From Irish Gaelic smidir n, diminutive of smiodar, small fragment) and say "take that sonny!!" If you read HAKIN9, it is in the vol.5,no.1 magazine. Jim ( Chronologically challenged)
I hope you know that this is just a political tactic he's using so no one can question him on the law. I would bet my kidney that he read it, he's just lying.
This has been really interesting and has exceeded all of my expectations. Views - 965 Posts - 92 Elapsed Time - 19 hours and 22 minutes Thanks everyone! Chris
I'd try to explain that Glocks are notorious for jamming and he should really look into a Ruger 9mm.:goofer: Although not true it may make him look down the barrel to see if it is jammed. :rolling:
