I have a friend from Turkey and he show me a coin (images attached), but both of us are not able to discover its identity. He asked some friends on his home country but not a guess. Could you please try to help us?
This seems modelled after an Ilkhanid AR Dinar issued under Uljaytu. But because of the execution of the coin and caligraphy i suspect this is a contemporary Anatolian imitation of this. (Which are also collected by some Ilkhan collectors)
First of all thank you THCoins. I come across a Coinarchives link below: https://www.coinarchives.com/w/results.php?search=Ilkhanid&s=0&results=100 but despite a long search of Ilkhanid coins I wasn´t able to find a match, so maybe is a imitation like you posted.
This is certainly an imitation. I am not sure if it is contemporary. It could also be a modern forgery.
@pirgah.. I consulted the "coinarchives" following your link above. I own 2 coins, a silver and a bronze one. I wonder where they could fit or could they be rare.
