Bought some coins from a guy. And just notice a 1918-d kinda looked like a 1918/7 d. Probably not but always like input.
Well always could use nic-a-date but would be awful if it came out to be a 1918/7 tried to see if there's a die crack by the braid to the check but to many scratches. Has a die crack across the buffalo.
You can't acid etch it in case it turns out to be good. Try a very bright light and a strong loupe and tilt it around.
Yeah you could try that, then you could start seeing strange letters and people walking around on it...........
Looks like it could be a worn overdate. Do not try to enhance with nic-a-date. Try researching and looking for other markets common to the overdate or not.
If you have the book "The complete Guide to Buffalo Nickles Second Edition" by David W. Lange. Look on page 102-103.It give some/more details to look for. It also references to Fivaz/Stanton.
