Thanks Al. Took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to grab this one (OK not really but you get the idea!)
Hey, my memory isn't completely gone, and yeah, I remember he made some very good contributions. There have been a couple to get upset, but in the end, it's all about the coins and coin camaraderie. I certainly can't find anyone in my circle of friends and family that care a bit about my coins.
I haven't followed the story of MM and why he left the forum, but it's not good news to read. I liked his contributions too I czn toss in a Magnus Maximus siliqua aswell, with the particularity of a legend error Magnus Maximus, Siliqua struck in Treveri, 2nd officina D N MAG MAX IMVS P F AVG, draped, cuirassed and diademed bust right VIRTVS RO MASORVM (sic !!) Roma seated facing, holding globe and spear. TRPS at exergue 1.91 gr Ref : Cohen # 20 var, Roman coins # 4201 Q
My only example is a very cheap bronze I picked up on a whim---no silver I'm truly sorry to hear that Mag-Max decided to leave the forum....As JA mentions, we can all rub each other the wrong way at times and perhaps we all can be a bit too 'sensitive' and perceive comments in an otherwise unintended way...
