    Thank you all for posting your coins of Maximinus:).
    All of them nice examples of the coinage of this emperor!

    Valentinian, many thanks for providing a link to your site on Maximilian.
    I found it very interesting (read it twice!)
    It deserves special mention n my opinion.
    I had not realized just how much his portraiture evolved, and the uncanny similarity with the busts of Severus Alexander.

    I do have one Maximinus to offer, but it is not an AE, and his chin seems subdued compared to many:

    Perhaps the author or the master for this coin wanted to make to the emperor of Maximinus Thrax pleasant and has represented him without huge chin.

    Those were my exact thoughts! The chin is prominent, but not as imposing as other coins.

    On a sculpture Maximinus Thrax has no such chin, probably the author of sesterces wanted to show his strong-willed face of the strong man.

    Agreed. Or, perhaps as you stated earlier about the coin: maybe the sculpter subdued the chin for this bust...
