    Not been on for some time been caught up with my stamp collection and a couple of Peters other forums LOL bur I spotted this on ebay for a nice price and couldn't resist :D

    Hungary
    Billon denar
    Matthias Corvinus (Mátyás Hunyadi in Hun.)
    .71 g.
    15 mm.

    Obv: + MOnETA • MAThIE • DE, Lion's head, facing.
    Rev: REGIS • h—VnGARIE, Patriarchal cross, B—S (privy mark) across fields.

    The type was struck 1462 (per Pohl, Huszár & Unger). This privy mark was struck in Buda (now Budapest) by Stephan Kowách, kammergraf (per Pohl).
    Huszár 704, Pohl 204-1, Unger 555a, Réthy II 222

    Mathias Corvinus is my ancestor. My grandmother was a Pole noblewoman. She was the descendant of an illegitimate branch of Corvinus. Though, Mathias died in 1490, the family likeness remained:smile.

    Here is my only coin of my great-grand.....grandfather. It's a denarius (it was released between 1482-1486).

    Wow now that is a Interesting ancestor to have :thumb: I have a similar Rev on a coin of Ferdinand I King of Bohemia and Hungary a 1554 Silver denier from the Kremnitz mint It has a "KB" in the fields

    Same as yours seems to have
