I just lost out on one I loved (a galley with a rare depiction of perspective that went $120 over estimate), but this one is a nice substitute. It depicts Jupiter and the temple of Jupiter Capitolinus as it originally appeared before it was destroyed in a fire with four columns, subsequently rebuilt in 69 BC with six columns. This coin alludes to the games of Rome created by Tarquin the Elder that were celebrated in the month of September in memory of the creation of the Temple of Jupiter.</p><p><br /></p><p>It's also noted that......"The five denarii types of M. Volteius celebrate the great cycle of Roman festivals and games, the Ludi Romani, Plebii, Ceriales, Megalenses and Apollonares.
