    @Lolli ,
    I never did "like" your post because I didn't really like it, but I do very much appreciate your having brought this to my attention. I value your input here and you are obviously very knowledgeable about ancient coin fakes. I wish I had the knowledge to spot fakes as readily as you seem to be able to do. I think the others here value your input too, but it's a bit hard to take when one has bought a coin they've been chasing after or have posted a coin they bought and are proud to have acquired. Your post really surprised me and my first inclination was to say to myself, "no way." After I settled down a bit I came to the realization that I am so inexpert with ancients that I wouldn't find it surprising at all. I've bought from an unknown seller here and there, but for the more expensive types I've been sticking to well known and longstanding members of the ancient numismatic trade (following the mantra, know the coin or know the dealer), but this certainly shows none of us are immune. I just wanted to say thanks.

    Everyone needs to know what a stand up guy Frank Robinson is:
    Lolli posted Sunday
    @Carausius , @Carthago and @Barry Murphy concurred with the conclusion.
    Monday I contacted Frank, and immediately the reply was "of course you can send it back"
    Tuesday I mailed it out
    Wednesday the coin was in transit
    Thursday mid-afternoon I received reimbursement in full

    I don't think I can say it any better than @Kentucky did

    That is awesome that Frank didn't even question the return. It's also awesome that @Lolli was able to identify the fake. But what's not awesome is that it surprised even me who thinks he knows more than he does! I would never have questioned that coin. So, from now on, don't listen to anything I have to say.

    Have always in mind that fakes can fool even the best and expert dealer. So for expensive cons I stick to these moto : I buy only to professionals dealer with high guarantee and reputation and with lifetime guarantee.

    As lifetime guarantee is link to the survival of the man or organisation I choose to go to a numismatic house run by a a family a sole trading man old or young can die as all human. A corporation even CNG can bankrupt we never know. I consider my limits as I don’t have the knowledge to detect very good fake, I can detect sometimes bad ones. So I ask a numismatic expert member of the AINP expert committee to check coins I got a doubt which include all coin sell by dealers I don’t know like here so I know if they are honest and I do it randomly and all expensive coins.

    Yes I don’t trust nobody but I worked in the past inside auction houses so I know why I am like that ....

    Secondly this expert learn me each time many tricks and explain me and I got an estimate to know if It was an interesting buying or nor and if overpaid.

    Franck is a guy of the old generation of dealers I will buy from him in the future, I contacted him to participate to his next auctions.
