I just ripped open the package I received today and don't think I can contain my excitement so thought I'd share:

Mark Antony. 32-31 BC. AR Legionary Denarius
Obv: ANT AVG III VIR R P C; Praetorian galley to the right
Rev: LEG XX; Legionary eagle (aquila) between two standards
    (17.55mm, 3.33g)
    Ref: Crawford 544/36; Sydenham 1243; RSC 57

I picked this up in an auction hosted by Frank Robinson on ebay. I've been wanting one of these since I started collecting and every time @Bing posts one I'd start drooling. Nervous about buying a raw one, but all the great reports about FSR eases my mind. Not much interested in the whole set, but I think this example is a fine representative piece.

Please show me your Mark Antony's, Legionaries, Traveling Mint or any other coin that fits

The "beading" on those standards really is something. Very impressive for the type.

Mine is OK, here it is. I had a great Legion VI in my old collection (but I sold that one years ago). So for now I'm making do with this one.

It was definitely well-loved by the people of Rome as it passed through many, many hands. ;)

That's a great Legio XX. I got mine from from a CTer a couple of years ago at a very good price.

Nice Legio XX @dadams . Great job capturing that Denarius, and you did well by Frank Robinson.

LOL, you must collect Moderns with that comment "Nervous about buying a raw one". Too bad the Modern side has homogenized, pasteurized, over-market"ized" coin collecting to frighten everyone to buy coins in a plastic box. I agree Vagi and Murphy are awesome ancients guys, but I betcha dimes-to-dollars they made a couple boo-boos in a box too. :)

Here’s my lone legionary denarius. Would like to figure out the legion. II or III methinks.

ACH, Bing & Alegandron, thanks for showing those great coins!

I'm that ex-Modern guy who hasn't looked at the NGC or PCGS msg boards in months - the CT Ancient crew have converted me fully. I'll admit to being frightened of buying myself an expensive forgery and the likelihood of picking up a fake MA Legionary, Caesar Elephant, or Greek Owl seem far greater than when buying the small Greek or Roman snack I'm more inclined towards. I've been surprised to learn LRB and all manner of ancients, expensive and not, are fair game to the nefarious copyist. I'm aware of the outrageous premium a Vagicized coin may have to the non-ancient collector, and I promise not to pay the price. As I learn more from all of you, I'll become more comfortable in making my own informed decisions till then I'll stick to the Johns, Nicks, Harlans, Franks, Kens, Victors, Joshs and Joes who I know are reputable.

I've replied to a few queries via PM on this, but I guess it wont hurt to tell, save that now everyone will know:

That is an awesome example! I can certainly see why you were anxious to receive it and could hardly wait to open the package. Getting a sought after gem in the mail is the sort of thing that makes the hobby so pleasurable.

Here's mine, Leg XIX. I bought this around 15 years ago for about $20:

That's an excellent example, @dadams! The centering and strike are way better than they are for most of these, and it looks to be struck on good metal to boot. I have a few but will show my favorite, worse than yours in every way except that it's from one of the "special" legions.
