I have this coin that I purchased some time ago as a "Marcus Aurelius As Caesar". Try as I may I cannot find a 'Reverse' with a similar legend - I am presuming that the coin is 'Germanic' and first row is "KAI" with the second starting with "CAR??". (Third row "N?????") I have also checked 'Lucius Verus' and Commodus' and a few others, but I am 'stumped' on this one. Does anyone recognise this 'reverse'? Can anyone point me in a direction that i haven't gone, yet? Thanks.
Its fine. This is way out of my line but I will try to find it on Wildwinds. I think Bing, Doug S, or JA will get it right in a heart beat!
Yours is too small to accommodate all the legend, but I believe it's this one: http://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/coins/4/6862/?search&stype=quick&q=Marcus caesarea wreath&rno=2 Edited to add: RPConline is very good for Antonine provincials
Way to go Z. I came to the thread too late, but not sure I would have found this one. BTW, nice find TC.
