eBay average maintain at $100.00 a set more or less. Open box or unopen box same price. First time it happen. A lot of sales at eBay. Why not buy them directly at mint for only $61.95. New you can sell them t $100.00 too.
Same price now, because either way the buyer can get them designated First Strike or Early Release. FS/ER is why people are buying them from sources other than the mint, at this time. In a few weeks the sealed ones will be higher than the opened sets. I don't get the whole FS/ER hoopla, but to each his own.
I went to the US Mint site just for kicks and I see that if you want to order the MOD set it is on back order. Wouldn't you think that for only having 75,000 sets to sell that the mint would be able to churn out that many sets in a day easily and there would be no back orders.
From what I've seen here, it's usually the packaging (contracted out to a third party) that causes the backlogs.
That's right. The third party. But I think the mint should have the full inventory before they sell them. I also think the mint should sell their own professional grader's mint 70 directly to us. Of course with premium.
After one week of sales. March of dime sold some 69,050 as of this noon. eBay three days average still stood at $93.12.
Wasn't there a time when the description of the proof manufacturing process included a bit about "individually inspected for quality"?
These will officially sell out today with order limit lifted, and prices will increase right away on eBay. If your order is backlisted, you may want to bid/buy now before prices increase after sell out.
