I ran across this today while I had some free time at work. I like the idea of it but am not sure who else besides kitco would be willing to purchase it back from you. http://www.kitco.com/RHODIUM/
Place is a literal shot in the dark, it seems at first. They do not have product on hand, so when you pay, dont expect to get anything literally for a minimum of 8 weeks. CONTACT NUMBERS AND EMAILS both are never answered. I left 3 voicemails and sent MANY emails with no response. My cashiers check of course was cashed promptly. No response about items being shipped or anything. My 2 rhodium coins just showed up one day. After that ordeal i said F that place. Although they recently updated their page and added new products. I would try to get ahold of the guy for questioning. It literally seems like it is some guy running the "cohen mint" out of his apt bedroom.
You can get more of an idea of liquidity by checking eBay for closed sales of rhodium coins. Apparently there is a resale market, but not a fast or deep one.
i don't know much about rhodium. i don't think i will dabble in this stuff at all, at least not without a ton of research. i seen a 1 gram coin for $200, is that a decent price? i want a coin just to say i have some rhodium....
Thats scalpers on ebay whilst the coin bares at $120ish or less now from Cohen mint(assuming its cohen mint coins on ebay). I remember I purchased 2 coins and turn around and profited $100 on them on ebay, just because nobody really knew how to obtain rhodium and not many mints were making them in Coin form.
Well the only plus I read was that kitco will buy it back from you at bid or 95% (depending on your storage methods). Rhodium is hovering around 2550 right now. I believe its more recent average to be around 1800 so as for now, I will pass.
Another supplier, advertising various forms (disk, bar, ingot): http://www.americanelements.com/rhm.html http://www.americanelements.com/rhmi.html http://www.americanelements.com/rhmbcn.html I have absolutely no experience doing business with them.
Ive seen places like these, but they sometimes require a minimum order which may be alot more than what some of us have to spend.
