    great coin!!

    £2,000 => $3792 Canadian ...sadly, I don't think that's gonna fly at stevex6's house!!

... even $379 would be hard to sneak by the goalie!!

Welcome to the brotherhood, Prokles, and thank you for the contribution.
Your coin would appear to be rare. I found only two Laos silver fractions on acsearch.info:

    http://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=529628
    http://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=2198257

They are heavier than the 1.06 grams of your coin at 1.23 and 1.28 and are listed as triobols. Your reverse is indistinct, but the reverse descriptions of the above coins are "calf standing right" for the first and "man-headed bull to right" for the second!
Sear GC 234 is a 1/6 stater at 1.35 grams with an acorn on the reverse!

I would be interested to know when and where you acquired the coin.

    Thanks for your welcome!
I forgot to introduce myself (to tell you the truth I was not sure where/whether I had to open a new thread).
I'm Rudolf from Belgium. I'm late in my 30's and father of two children.
I've been collecting ancient coins for 2 years.
My main interest lies in coins of Magna Graecia, Sicily, Peloponnesos and mainland Greece.

I got this one from one of the first Mobility auction organized by HJB (https://hjbmobility.com/lots/view/1-MTCV).

BTW, congrats for your stater of Laos!!! It is a very nice one (and also very hard to find in such a preservation state). I'd really love to have one like this in my collection!!!

You're right: this coin is rare. I found none in the collection of the British Museum and on SNG UK.
I just found another one in the collection of the French National Library (coming from de Luynes collection) : http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b8475279m

It weights 1.10 grams and is described as a triobol. I'll check this evening in the HN Italy (and in the SNG ANS) to see if I manage to find other fractions of Laos.
