In a lot of Malaya WWII notes that I purchased recently, there's one with a strange perforation that I haven't noticed on any similar note before.

Does any of you know what it may be?

    Thank you in advance,

The notes have been canceled . Or paid out .

I'm afraid it's not because of that; I can't think of any reason for cancelling a note like this, while paid ones are usually just stamped as "PAID".

A friend suggested that this piece is a post mint job (probably done in Malaysia or Singapore) as the Japanese are inclined to use Mi-Hon rather than other Roman lettering. But... is it so?

It could have been done by anyone for a reason only known to them. Unless you find some official documentation all you will have is speculation.

The perforation is B & Co.

    Is the paper watermarked?
