    Coins of Magnus Maximus are scarce, and silver coins of his even more so. Somehow though, I've been able to track down at least 2 of his Silique that have the same obverse die's.

    Neat discovery. Good detective work.
    Die matches are not unexpected on rare coins. In fact, the greater the rarity of a coin, the more likely you are to find a die match. Their very rarity suggests that fewer dies were made. Hence, the greater the chance that any two coins were from the same die.
