It is one of the widest Hasting triplet apochromatic designs. Dollar store magnifiers are usually one lens, and can not produce a consistent flat visual. This apochromatic will have no color diffusion and will be flat focus across the whole lens as it has 3 to compensate. I think they run from 3x to 30x in different models.
