    fretboard Defender of Old Coinage!

Anyone have anything old made out of coins? :) Just wondering, here's a pill box, many years ago there were coin ashtrays, pill boxes, all kinds of stuff. Feel free to post a pic!

Neat. I've seen them before, but don't own any.

My father would say that we thought he was made out of money?

Very cool piece. I have not have an opportunity to purchase anything like this.
I think I would if a quality piece came to my attention.
Is there a makers mark anywhere on it? Inside the cover maybe?

I found a spoon that was made from coin silver, with my metal detector a while back.

1964 Jefferson Nickel Coaster or Paperweight

    1964nickelinplasticO.JPG

I have this 1964 Jefferson nickel in what looks like a home-made paperweight or coaster. It is about a half inch thick.
When I first found it, the plastic was quite scratched and very dull and I couldn't read the date.
I polished it up hoped for a 1939 D or something good, but it is the most common date made and does not look unc.
If I have nothing to do sometime, I may finish cleaning it up. I'm sure I can make it clear as can be, but it is still yellowed with age.

You give it to a homeless person and let them deal with it! 112.gif j/k

Not quite as fancy as the items above.... I found this quarter when I was a kid in the 70s and recently repurposed it for the GF (it just so happens to be her birth year).
