<p>[QUOTE=&quot;brokecoinguy, post: 2993825, member: 85775&quot;]Yes, folks you are reading that correctly I made my first coin purchase in a while at Sunday&#039;s monthly show in Atlanta...all thanks to bitcoin!&nbsp; I thought this interesting experience would make for an interesting post so let&#039;s keep it on that topic - please no hijacking with opinions on bitcoin.&nbsp; The most I&#039;ll say is being in the tech field I do find the technology/code behind bitcoin pretty intriguing.&nbsp; I still have a job, the same username, no lambo, and far from rich.&nbsp; Okay now back to the topic....</p><p><br /></p><p>So this past weekend my parents made a trip down from Ohio to visit their granddaughter (and the other granddaughter that&#039;s currently just a bun in the oven) as they normally do every few months.&nbsp; Since I do live in the same house I guess they decided to visit me too.&nbsp; They seem to conveniently time trips around the first of the month so my dad and I always visit the monthly Greater Atlanta Coin Show.</p><p><br /></p><p>This time around I really had no intention of purchasing anything, we just went to look and kill time while the little one napped.&nbsp; I was happy to see all the usual dealers and tables but this time I noticed something a little different.&nbsp; One of the dealers facing the main entrance to the bourse floor had a &quot;Bitcoin accepted here&quot; sign.&nbsp; Naturally this caught my eye so I struck up a conversation with the dealer.&nbsp; He was a very eccentric (in a good way) 72 years young, had an absolute passion for what he did, and was as nice as could be.&nbsp; When I asked about the sign you could immediately see how excited he got.&nbsp; He went on and on about how cool the technology was and how he wanted to be the first dealer marketing to a different crowd with a new method of payment.&nbsp; He hadn&#039;t made a sale yet but was visibly excited at the thought and even showed me the wallet on his phone.&nbsp; Let me remind you that my parents (58 &amp; 59) still call me and ask for help on the computer so I was pretty impressed with this guy.</p><p><br /></p><p>Although I wasn&#039;t looking for anything I knew I had to find something in his case.&nbsp; This opportunity was too good to pass up.&nbsp; One coin that stood out was an Isabella quarter in AU58 but if I brought that home my wife would have literally killed me.&nbsp; Looking to fill another type slot in my 7070 I came across a worn but nice 1834 capped bust dime in G-4.&nbsp; Always buy for quality and not for price - I know, I know - but this time I made an exception, this was for the experience (both his and mine).&nbsp; I was able to get it for $40 or around 0.005 bitcoin. </p><p><br /></p><p>There is no way to describe the pure joy and excitement that came over this man&#039;s face when I told him I wanted to pay in bitcoin.&nbsp; He started bragging to the tables next to him and a few other folks that approached him during the transaction.&nbsp; It made my day knowing the purchase made his.&nbsp; I apologize for the long-winded post but this experience was too good to not share.&nbsp; Hope everyone has a good rest of the week![/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
