This penny has seen better day. Now this MAD actually touches the lettering. I was told that's what people look for in error MAD coins and if it's MAD but not enough to touch the imprints then it's no good. Thoughts? Also, is that doubling around the back of his head?
Not a mis-aligned die, sorry. I believe it's just struck from a worn or used die at the top area - very common, no premium that I'm aware of. I don't see any doubling behind his head.
Is this the type of MAD collectors look for? Was told the miss alignment has to interfere with the details. Also is that doubling around the back of his head?
