If it was, wouldn't the torch and the head of FDR be affected also? They aren't. I was almost going to say it was done by a coin rolling machine but that wouldn't affect BOTH sides. No, I think the coin was damaged somehow.
The center of both sides is clear while towards the rim the fields have a "bubbly" appearance. Not sure what caused it but IMHO it's DEMDAM, not an error
I thought it might’ve been a coin roller damage but from my understanding it will have scratches Which it does on America and on the flame but the rest of the areas are smooth when I look at it through the lupe
Being around the edge, and not in the center, I think it may be more of a case of grease/debris filled dies. It's not a true doubled die though.
A lot of 2015P dimes look like that! I saved the first few I found then realized there are so many like that and quit. Keep looking! You next coin could be the one you've been looking for!!! Good luck!!!!
