Lunchtime shopping at Spink

    Shame it's next week. There's a great little stall in Spitalfields market, but he's taking the next two weeks off to watch the Tour de France! I think your best bet is the Charing Cross Market. There's a dealer called Lance who has good stock of ancients at reasonable prices.

    Thanks very much, in my travels I do go through Charing Cross, I will keep my eye out for the Market.

    There's someone who sells ancients in spitalfields? My wife and I used to go there all the time when she lived in London, but I don't ever recall seen that. How long has he been there?

    My experience with London has been the same as what Nerva says - no shops, except pricey ones. I mentioned above I hit A. H. Baldwins, which is very close to Covent Garden on the Strand (seems to me I saw someone sells coins in Covent Garden too last time I was there, but they were not ancient)

    Very recent, last few months. Only on a Thursday for the antique market. Small scale but he has some nice things at good prices. Usually has a few 'specials' behind the counter if you ask. Does a lot of business selling to the trade at fairs too.
