That is what i thought too when i recieved the coin, my grandfathers brother told me that they would wrap the coin in one of those small American flags and keep then it in their pocket. I was amazed how much history was behind this coin. This contest means a lot to me and I always love to share some of my familys history! -Kyle
Thanks to everybody for posting. I enjoyed the pics and stories. My kids came to a consensus and the winners are H8Modern, SteveCaruso and Kanderus. Please PM me your name and address. Also please let me know what you want. I have a lot of Jefferson Nickels from the late 40s to 80s. I only have the 1957 Proof Pennies. If you want a Jefferson, give me a list of a few that you would like.(I might not have the dates/MM you want.) Also give me a decade of preference in case I don't have what you want and I will pick one from that decade and send it. Thanks again to everyone for posting and congrats to the winners.
Wow! I can't believe I actually won! Pacecar, if you don't recieve my PM please PM me. I hope it gets to you, but it may not have worked correctly. Thank you!!!
Congratulations to the winners:thumb: and thank you for nice contest Pacecar! I enjoyed to read your stories.
I just got the proof cent in the mail yesterday! Thank you so much! Man, the cent was THICK too! Almost as thick as a nickel!
edit: I just found all those other posts and see that I'm a little late here, oh well, I still enjoy carrying the big dollars I carry a beat up 78 Ike, a few years ago when my mother passed I found it among her things. She had about a half dozen Ikes, a couple went to my niece, a couple to my daughter, and I kept a couple. Sometimes I carry a Morgan with it, it's great to feel those big dollars in my pocket, to hear them together.
