    Daughter of Marcus Aurelius, wife of Lucius Verus, and sister of Commodus, Lucilla was another lady with a tragic fate...
    Like Crispina, who was a few years later also executed by Commodus on the island of Capri, it is almost impossible to find a fine style portrait of her on a Denarius, but for whatever reasons the artists took much more care with the design of her bronze dies:

Rev: PIETAS; Pietas standing left, holding hand over altar and box of perfumes. Ref: RIC III 1756 (Marcus Aurelius); MIR 18, 11-6a; Cohen 54. Very Fine, brown surfaces, minor reverse porosity. Concordia seated left, holding patera & leaning left forearm against statuette of Spes, CONCORDIA. RIC III 758, RSC II 6a, Sear RCV II 5479. 17.1 mm., 3.4 g.
