Lucilla is pretty much known to all of us (at least those who saw the film) as the wife of Lucius Verus and the daughter of Marcus Aurelius, as well as the sister of Commodus. Her son, Lucius, was under the tutelage of Commodus in the Hollywood version of the story, which played loosely with the chronology of the period and also glossed over the facts in order to create a moving tale of epic porportions. A recent pick-up from @John Anthony it makes a nice addition to the collection as I had a Faustina but no Lucilla. As you can see, the patina is a nice chocolatey-brown. Lucilla Augusta, AD 164-169. My one coin of Lucilla: Lucilla (wife of Lucius Verus & daughter of Marcus Aurelius) AR Denarius 164-66 AD, Rome Mint. Obv. Bare head right, draped, LVCILLAE AVG ANTONINI AVG F/ Rev. Concordia seated left, holding patera & leaning left forearm against statuette of Spes, CONCORDIA. RIC III 758, RSC II 6a, Sear RCV II 5479. 17.1 mm., 3.4 g. Obviously, if Concordia was originally leaning her left forearm against a statutette of Spes on this coin, that statuette has completely worn away.
