I only bought one. I knew it was going to be close, so did not want to buy a ton for 2 purposes. One, I did not want a ton of money tied up in them. 2, I did not want to add to the total mintage much. I like the design as well, so I can't really lose, but I HOPE enough get returned that it makes it the new key.

Yeah, one or more of these TV hucksters need to fall on the sword and return at least 28 of them. They'd be a lot better off on the 100's of keys they'd be holding.

Average eBay price for national park service five dollar gold uncirculated is $500. And the half dollar uncirculated is $30. Let us see next Tuesday report.

WOW, the Parks unc gold is only 6 more than the lowest (Jackie) as of yesterday's mint report. Will it go lower than Jackie next week or will it stay at 6 more?

From reading some other forums, most seem to think it will go lower. Apparently it takes awhile for the returns to actually get put into the system. Fingers crossed!

Most of those are pretty ugly coins, IMO. There's a good reason they didn't sell well.

Or, the mint is gouging so much on the price these days, many are not interested until the mintage is low.

Even though a nice design is preferable, I believe a record low mintage legal tender slug with only the date and value on it would eventually sell for big bucks.

It isn't so much "gouging" IMO, rather that by waiting a short amount of time, you can get the coins for below issue price. You may have your chance to test your theory about a "record low mintage legal tender slug" with the upcoming Lions Club coin. ;)

Not these days, most or all of the recent low mintage stuff does not go below issue price. If it even gets close to issue price, you're probably getting garbage/damaged stuff I would have returned to the mint.

I don't know about a new low dollar - the 1996 Olympics have held that record for awhile. Of course the 1997 Jackie $5 may get beat with the 2016 Parks. In recent years, the Half Dollars are producing a new low each year. But, the Park Half is a lot lower than the previous year, that may be hard to beat and the market is beginning to react.

Probably. That would be like a variation on the bar cents

National park service $5 gold unc sold some at $650 more or less. While the really lowest of all half dollar unc and proof sold over $30. And should go higher from this point.

The unc Halves are going for around $100 each or more on eBay, but there is a box of 10 for $500. It will be interesting to see how the auctions end.

Whoops! I did find two ads for singles in the $50 range.

Oh. That's good. It should worth over $200.00 as the lowest mintage always did.

When this coin was introduced I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. I did like a lot about it, both themes on the obverse and the awesome arrowhead sign reverse. But, two different themes on the obverse was strange. Since I like both the themes, I've grown to appreciate it. I don't know, is there another coin with the obverse or reverse divided 50/50 into two themes or is this a first?

National park half dollar unc mintage is 21,016 only. Highest asking price $95.00 at eBay.
Highest mintage for half dollar is 6,925,627

National park five dollars gold unc mintage is 5,164 only. Highest asking price $800.00 at eBay.
Highest mintage for five dollars gold is 651,659

See the gap and different. And both mintages can still be a little bit lower when final mintage reported.
