Love Token on a Seated Liberty Quarter

    Picked up this in a group of "junk" coins today. I'm trying to decipher the initials though. What are your thoughts?

    It's challenging, because many of these can be turned 180 - here an M becomes a W, for example. And the floral scrollwork is unique on each piece, with the engraver's handwriting playing a role.

    Do an internet search for images of "Old English Script", there are some styles more elaborate than others.

    Typically, I believe the flourishes in calligraphy are on the left side of the letters, so I'm guessing MG on yours.

    Of course each calligrapher or engraver develops their own style, so you won't find an exact match without knowing who the engraver was.
