This is the second part of the thread I made Thursday... Again, just post #1; answer. #2, answer. etc. First coin: I think it might be improper annealing... I don't know. Last thread I made on this didn't conclude anything. Some people said maybe, some said enviornmental damage, some said plating... Pictures make it look a bit grainy, but it has better lustre in hand. Also, keep in mind annealing can create a sort of plating. The copper can rise to the surface. I can't tell, so I'm relying on you to figure it out. Second coin: This one is an oddity. It could be damaged though. But I was thinking a possible strike through? I have no clue on this one... Picture limit is 10, so I am posting a third coin on a post. So if you're here early, just wait for it.
Third coin: This one I am thinking could be a die crack or a rpm. It's not listed anywhere though. An odd spot for a die crack. If it's a die crack, I'm surprised the mintmark punch didn't break. It's in a very small area if you think about the actual die.
What? I never asked about that one. I know it's only worth 5 cents. I put it there for contrast. But I think that the 1998 I asked about is NOT infact improper annealing... The edge is colored, and that's a sign it's enviornmental toning as improper annealing only effects the top and bottom. But all the other coins are still up for anyone to say what they are.
