This contest is now CLOSED. Winner was announced in Post #28.

    Happy Halloween, everyone!
    :vamp:

This is another "instant" giveaway, meaning it is to be a short-duration contest as opposed to the regular month-long "pick your prize" one.

The drawing for this contest will coincide with that of Giveaway #61, which is the regular monthly contest for October.

    The winner
(if we get anyone who actually dares to enter- LOL) will be selected by random number generator sometime on or shortly after midnight Eastern US time on November 1st, 2021.

I promised a spooky contest, and let me tell you, here is some frightening material indeed! :zombie:

    The prize will be:

    • (48) pieces of the nastiest, most disreputable Indian cent culls imaginable. One is an 1860-64 copper-nickel type (though the date isn't readable). The rest are 1864-1909 bronze coins. Many (though not all) do have readable dates, but that's about all you can say for them. You'll find corroded, harshly cleaned, bent, holed, and otherwise sorry stuff in here.
*This lot is guaranteed to be the absolute worst quality possible, or you will receive double your purchase price back! (2 x $0.00 = $0.00.) ;)
    • (1) Type 3 Lord Marcovan elongated cent. One of 100 pieces made in 2020, on a cull Indian cent host coin just like these. It's not too bad looking. The date on the host coin is not quite readable, but it is recognizable as an Indian cent.
And just to round it all up to 50 pieces, and so that not everything in here is nasty, we'll go to the opposite end of the quality spectrum and add...
    • (1) full-Red Brilliant Uncirculated 1954-S Lincoln Wheat cent, sealed in Littleton plastic. Actually quite nice looking.

    To enter this contest:

    1. Just type the phrase "entry post", and whatever spooky stuff you wish to add. Multiple replies to the thread are OK, but only one entry post per contestant.

    2. You actually want this stuff? Are you sure you're OK? You might want to consider making an appointment with a numismatic psychiatrist. I'm sure there's one in every town. ;)

    .
    Or there should be, anyway.

A very excited "Entry Post", please!
Those look a little "munged up", if you know what i mean ;).
How very generous of you @lordmarcovan. I'm really only interested in the second and third prizes :angelic:, but if i win, I'll send those cents to @Matthew Kruse. He's got some Canadian commemoratives coming from me anyway.
Good luck to all contestants, and a big thank you to @lordmarcovan.

Entry Post. Are you sure the Post Office will deliver those? They have rules for hazardous materials.

I would be glad to win those as I do not have a US cent older than 1942. But if I am selected maybe just choose a few to save on postage to Spain, and if you really want rid of them send the rest to @Matthew Kruse. Great theme for a halloween competition, many thanks for the opportunity

Entry Post, Thanks for the contest and prizes. I can't pass up a chance to win one of LordM's elongated cents. As for the rest I would pass it along in circulation and hopefully make someone's day with a find.

Welp, that is indeed a very ugly assortment of pennies to most of us.... However, it would be a gold mine to my under-10-year-old nephews as they search through 40 lbs of pennies that I've removed from the change jar.

    cheers,
    JP
