<p>[QUOTE=&quot;Publius2, post: 15267989, member: 105571&quot;][USER=10461]@lordmarcovan[/USER], thoroughly enjoyed your reporting.&nbsp; You saw some things I missed even though I was there for four days.&nbsp; Show is big!!!&nbsp; You have a warm mix of the personal and the numismatic in your presentations.&nbsp; With your blessing, I&#039;ll add some of my show observations:</p><p><br /></p><p>I am still cataloging and imaging my acquisitions which I&#039;ll post over on the US Coins Forum.</p><p><br /></p><p>Overall, I found the show very good from a collector&#039;s standpoint.&nbsp; Lots of good and new material.&nbsp; I wanted to get to Sheridan Downey&#039;s table to look at some new half dime material but the crowd was always three deep.&nbsp; </p><p><br /></p><p>I thought the public attendance was down from past Winter FUN shows.&nbsp; By Saturday afternoon it was dead with about 30% of dealers already gone or going.&nbsp; I know a couple of FUN Board members and I&#039;ll ask them about it when I see them Wednesday night.</p><p><br /></p><p>Prices still strong.&nbsp; Some dealers were flexible on pricing, some were not.&nbsp; Some prices for better material were really high.&nbsp; That&#039;s my personal impression based solely on my own looking/negotiating/buying.</p><p><br /></p><p>I wanted to attend [USER=24314]@Insider[/USER]&#039;s presentation but I was hot and heavy in a negotiation when noon on Saturday rolled around.&nbsp; Did anyone else attend and what did you think?</p><p><br /></p><p>Signed up two new members for my local coin club at our table.&nbsp; That&#039;s actually pretty good.</p><p><br /></p><p>Attended a nice dinner of the Liberty Seated Coin Collectors Club.</p><p><br /></p><p>And finally, late Friday afternoon I was spending an extended time at a dealer&#039;s table and when done, grabbed my glasses from the top of the case and left.&nbsp; Next morning, I discovered those glasses weren&#039;t mine.&nbsp; I ran back to the dealer&#039;s table but he had already packed and left for the airport.&nbsp; Naturally, this was the day I left my cell phone at home.&nbsp; Called him the next day and sure enough he had stumbled around not knowing what was wrong until he realized his glasses weren&#039;t really his.&nbsp; Anyway, I shipped his glasses to him on Sunday.&nbsp;&nbsp; In my defense, they did look awfully alike.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
