    Day 3 of the show
    (for us)

Back at my favorite perch next to the skywalk at our hotel, just enjoying a quiet moment before getting showered and packing up. We’ll check out, maybe find breakfast (Randy said something about finding “some pastries”), and head back to the convention center for our final show visit.

Really, I’m pretty much satisfied with the trip, and the only remaining order of business for me on the floor is to do my NGC submission. Will there be any final impulse buys before we head home? The morning will tell.

I am looking forward to day three. I don't do well in crowds. Everything tends to turn into a blur in my brain. Day three is far more relaxed and I can see things better even though the available selections are far reduced.

Typically at annual conventions/shows the organizers will announce the dates and location of the following show. Have the FUN top brass announced this info for January 2027 yet? If so, care to share?

As for your blow by blow writeup, Rob and Randy, awesome job. I enjoyed your journey, totally. Maybe next year! :D

Have fun the final couple of hours and safe travels home.

There are rooms with windows overlooking the floor, so I imagine it was taken that way.

There are many show reports that pop up in these forums, and I thoroughly enjoy every single one of them. These from the FUN show are a little more special to me, mainly because they include so many CT members. We are really a coin family here, right down to the quirky cousins!

I will say as we await the opening here….. The law enforcement has been very visual and that is comforting knowing many of us have thousands in cash/coins in our bags and pockets…… But it too is a sad reminder that societal standards are not what they once were.

Matt Clarke (“changeinhistory”) saw me in my hat in the parking lot, recognized me, and came up to introduce himself. I thought he said he was on CT, but I’m not finding his profile here. He is on Collectors Universe, so maybe that’s where he knew me from.

Said he’s helping out at Table 953- Larry Brigg’s table. Given what a Seated coin fan Randy is, I should send him over there. Larry Briggs is “the guy who wrote the book” on Seated stuff, as I understand it.

Alright forum members…. I am not a confrontational fellow. I just walked by the Gold Standard Auctions table and I but my tongue hard…… Should I tell them what I think or just leave it?

You're certainly within your rights to walk over and just let them know you're an incredibly disappointed EX-customer.

    Here’s a really freaky coincidence.

A few days ago, Randy posted about this roadkill quarter, joking about it being a “rare error”, as I recall.

He spent it this weekend (I’m surprised they took it!)

    IMG_5720.jpeg IMG_5721.jpeg

This morning, while waiting to register at the show, we met a lady- a nurse and a noncollector- who was bringing in some silver to sell at the show.

When we struck up a conversation, Randy offered to look over what she had, and give her advice.

To make a long story short, she also had a coin that she thought was a mint error in there.

You’ve guessed where this is going.

It was THE EXACT SAME roadkill quarter that Randy had spent a couple of days ago!!! No doubt about it!

And this lady hadn’t even been in the show yet! She was bringing it in from the wild!

We let her down gently. She took it well.

What’s the old saying about how “a bad penny will always turn up”? Well, with inflation, that apparently applies to bad quarters as well!

Another pricetag stuck on the smokers’ table.

Who IS this mystery tycoon who peels the stickers off his coins while puffing his cigars? I wanna know what he collects!

    IMG_6267.jpeg

OK. I’m headed in now. Next stop: NGC table.

Did anybody see the Heritage 1804 $1 in person? It’s in their FUN auction. It’s the PR58 example.

Heritage was only here our first day. They weren’t here yesterday or today. I was zoomed in on their Continental dollars. Sorry, Buff….
