The not-so-hot Valerian was a really bad deal. I could get that, on a good day, for $25, $30-35 on a regular day. The crosses also had suspiciously uniform patinas. But, like I said, one or two of the inexpensive seals were of interest. It could be due to my Noscript, but I couldn't get any coins to come up on the 'for sale' part of the page. It would be a variant of 'coming soon'.
Wow, that’s the last spot I’m going to be caught going through my inventory in. Edit to add; This must be where those counterfeit coins come from!
I flicked 27 C-notes across the table and can now declare “mission accomplished” on finding a problem-free small gold Spanish Colonial cob in the $2-3K range- which I was beginning to think was an impossible quest. This one doesn’t come with a shipwreck pedigree, but it does have the nice contrasting toning I was seeking. It also has Photovision images on the cert page, so I don’t have to get it reimaged. (Prong-free pics. Yay.) NGC images below. Nope- this one is not a giveaway coin. Sorry.
My friend Jason got this nifty counterstamped Ike dollar commemorating the show. But this was not part of the free swag they gave out. I did get a brass FUN medal and a flashlight and tote bag and some other goodies.
Randy and I were so exhausted after walking around the show that we didn’t go out to dinner. Stayed in the hotel room and ordered delivery. Chicken Piccata and Fettuccine Alfredo. So Italian, two nights in a row. It too was pricey- $95-ish after tip & delivery fees for the 2-person “family dinner”- but in this case, it was worth it, and quite good.
I would get along with you fellows just fine. I normally bring in delivery when I stay in Minneapolis for the shows there. I’ve always been by myself though, so that plays a factor as well.
