Lord Marcovan's "Greysilver Album" This is a casual "sideline" collection I started on December 28, 2017. Aside from a few single pieces in type sets over the years, I have never collected Morgan dollars, so I decided to give that a try, and bought this album. It's a Dansco #7172 "Silver Dollar Date Set" album, meaning it only calls for one coin per year (so a date set, but not a date-and-mint set). I'm really only interested in reasonably inexpensive circulated coins for this collection, so the "one-a-year" plan works for me. But it will still have its challenges. The goal here is to go with original grey circulated pieces, common dates where possible, and strive for as much of a matched appearance as possible. By looking at what I've got so far, you should be able to get an idea of the sort of look I'm after. The Peace dollars will be more difficult to find in circulated condition with a nice grey look. They're out there, but ones with the right appearance (and no problems) are sometimes one in a thousand. The album also calls for one from each year of the Eisenhower and Susan B. Anthony dollars, though after 1976 they aren't technically "silver" dollars. I went ahead and got all those in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, since finding matched circulated coins with grey toning in these later series would be a practical impossibility. I did go with silver whenever there was a choice between silver and clad. I figure I'll work on this set for a little while and then sell it to feed my primary Eclectic Box collection. This will be a nice little sideline to build up a little "equity" along the way towards "saving up" for a bigger-ticket purchase or two for my primary collection later. (I'm terrible at saving for big purchases, so this is a way of doing that while still having fun on the side.) I'll probably hang a "For Sale" sign on this fairly soon, in case anybody wants to take it over and complete what I've started, but until I do sell it, I'll keep on adding to it and maybe improving it. If it sells, great, but if not, well, then I'll keep on working on it until the album is full! Number of coins as of this update: 27 Thanks for looking. ~Robertson ("Rob") Shinnick (aka "LordM") Brunswick, Georgia, March 16, 2018 Dansco #7172 album

So that's it for my debut post with this collection. In future updates, this space will show what additions were made and include my comments on recent purchases. First impression: I just noticed that my rows of three thumbnails to a line look terrible on my phone. Wasn't thinking about the mobile implications. Oh well. Who cares? (Except me. LOL)
LordM, that is real SWEET!!!! And you only have 4 ugly specimens in the whole collection (no, I don't mean the Morgan, Peace or Ike $'s) Sorry, I just really don't like them! I like the idea - I may do that myself! (Except for, you know.....)
