ANACS has better turnaround times for less money than this, and actually seem grateful for the business. Not sure why they're supposedly of lower reputation than PCGS (and NGC), but every coin I've posted here I've had people guess it at equal, or sometimes higher, grades than they gave. PCGS has some graders that used to work for ANACS anyway. Worth considering... And I agree with Sliderguy about "reconsideration fees." You shouldn't have to pay anything to get a company to correct its own mistake. If they graded it wrong the first time, regrading it correctly should be free. (I thought that was the whole point of their grade guarantee anyway, am I missing something?) A job as a grader may sound great, but I've talked to people that work as video game testers, and they say they can never really enjoy video games anymore because: it not feels like work, and they've been trained to notice every flaw they they can't stop picking up on it. Someone has to do the job of course, but just consider that lol... Anyway remember PCGS isn't the only game in town. If their service isn't up to par, take your business elsewhere. If a company loses business to a competitor because of their service, that's the only way they'll be motivated to improve. If they know you can get your business nobody how good their service is, why should they bother?
NFN, but there will always be, as there always has been, disagreement over a grade on the label. What you say is a 68*, the TPG may say 64.
See this recent post of mine where I reported 18 day actual turn time for NGC economy service. http://www.cointalk.com/t221625/#post1627002 I'm going to a local coin show now. See you later.
I always pay the $30 regular service fee to PCGS. It takes about 17 business days most of the time. Back in October though, I sent in 3 different regular service level submissions and they came back in 9 & 10 business days! - I guess they were ahead of schedule at the time & had less submissions to grade). I just sent in a "add variety" coin to PCGS that was already graded and that took 7 business days to get finished. (On those, you don't have to pay a service level fee of $20 or $30 or $50, etc... you just select re-holder and add variety).
