The current stack of Silver we have. It's been quite some time since I bought silver and looking to get add once again. I am currently holding 350 ounces which is: (2) JM 100 ounce bars, (100) 2016 1 ounce Kooks, (5) of the orginal 5 ounce ATB's and a few small pieces. Looking at the following and wanted to get advice on what folks thought: 2017 Kilo Kookaburra Purchase 10 of each both the Griffins and Lions with the intent of getting the whole series Skip the Griffins and Lions and get (4) 10 ounce stackable bars from Scottsdale. Thoughts?
First you must decide if you are a numismatist or a stacker. If a crunch really comes, you will lose all the premium you paid (over spot) for the fancy material, plus no one will know how to "make change" for a purchase. EVERYBODY understands common 90% dimes, quarters, and halves, and they've seen them for decades. How do you propose to get rid of a 100-ounce bar? I am currently selling or trading off everything except 90% dimes, etc., including silver dollars (which sell at a significant premium to spot), ASEs, Maples, and foreign proofs. I have been moderately successful in getting 20% over spot, then buying more 90% locally to avoid shipping costs. The closet numismatist lives on, in the form of Indians and Lincolns, and 3 Type Sets.
Get 10oz bars. Then you can get a vest, sew individual pockets into it to hold the bars, and VOILA!, homemade bullet proof vest What to get depends on how/why/if/when you plan to get rid of it.
