I have found this copper looking Oklahoma state quarter. I did a google search and only fond information about ones with one copper side. I am not how much protection to give this coin. Can anyone help me with more information about this coin please?

This is just my opinion, but I don't think it is missing both clad layers. If it weighs 5.67 gms. then it is just an unusual coloration.

it is 5 gms on my mailing scale. So it looks like it will get a new paper jacket protector. Thank you for your time

What does your scale go to? You need a scale that goes to .00 grams in order to be accurate.

Don't look right to me, his nose is too big at the end? Possible counterfeit?

It's a regular quarter. Chris actually had a half dollar that is missing a clad layer so he knows what he is talking about.

    I'm thinking copper plated.
The lighting could have a lot to do with the color in the photo, too.

Is there a bit of nickel color showing in spots on the rim and also some of the high points in the center of the coin. If so , than I suspect that your coin has been plated and is wearing through in these areas.

I can tell you it's a 2008 copper Oklahoma quarter. It appears as if the whole thing is copper with copper around the outside as well.

I do not see any nickel around the outside or anywhere on the coin for that matter.
