I grabbed this (only bidder) for what I think was a pretty sweet deal: $15 brought this nice piece of Londinium mint home with me. It was hard to photograph the patches of silvering on the obverse (I'll see if I can improve the photos to reflect this).

Kind of incredible to think that only a century after this coin was struck, Londinium and the rest of Britannia were already lost to the Romans forever.

    Licinius I, Western Roman Empire
    AE follis
Obv: IMP LICINIVS PF AVG, laureate, cuirassed bust right
Rev: SOLI INVIC-TO COMITI, Sol radiate standing left, right hand raised, globe in left hand, chalamys draped over left shoulder, S in left field, F in right field
Mint: London (struck 316-317 AD); Mintmark: MLN (in ex)
Ref: RIC VII 48, rated R2

Very nice score. Love the price. I've always liked the coins from London. As in most other mints, London has a distinct style. I own a couple of Licinius I coins from London, one of which has a very similar portrait:

    LICINIUS I

OBVERSE: IMP LICINIVS P F AVG, laureate, cuirassed bust right
REVERSE: GENIO POP ROM S-F, Genius standing left, modius on head, loins draped, holding patera & cornucopia, PLN in ex.
    Struck at London 313-4 AD
    3.2g, 22mm

I was fortunate enough to be able to buy from a long time metal detectorist who search in Britain for over 40 years recently. I picked out 5 very high end, (basically as struck, gXF or FDC) London mint coins from the offerings. One of these days I might even get them photographed. :(

Sweet and thrifty score, Jango ... congrats!

I only have one example of Licinius, but it is from the Heraclea mint ...

A very nice coin, VK! It reminds me that I have yet to collect a Licinius/Sol type. I do have two IOVI CONSERVATORI types, one from Siscia, one from Nicomedia...

After a little research, it turns out that Licinius was not paired with Sol very often, making the OP coin scarce, even scarcer from London, and even scarcer in such a nice grade. I would say $15 for that coin is officially a steal. Well-done sir!
