Another ancient arrived in the mail today. It's amazing how small of a coin it is.

LOKRIS, Lokri Opuntii. Circa 338-300 BC. AR Hemidrachm (2,63g). Head head of Persephone right, wearing grain ear wreath / Ajax advancing right, nude but for crested helmet, brandishing sword and shield. SNG Copenhagen 53 var.

What a beauty:singing::artist:... though, how sure are you that it's Persephone?

Very attractive obverse portrait. I also like the blue toning highlights. Great new coin.

It was sold as a Perephone from a seller on Vcoins. I'll have to do some research to make sure.

Edit: I did some research. WildWinds is the place for this. After looking over the Lokris, Lokri section. I'm about 100% sure it's Perephone.

I love researching ancient coins. They're so interesting.
